Description

Quite a bit of testing went into the updated PMA Barrel Vise. From the metal finishing on the aluminum to maximize grip and minimize marks left on the barrel to the ability to handle barrels from .750" to 1.500"+ this barrel vise is based on the fantastic original Viper barrel vise, with a few added features we wanted.

 

Vise is shipped in position to handle barrels 1" - 1.500"+. To use the vise for barrels under 1" remove the top and rotate it 90 degrees.

 

PMA Recommends applying grease to the stud threads prior to use and torquing barrel vise nuts to 40 ft-lbs.

    Excellent design and construction. Seems to be able to adapt to most barrel profiles. I attached it to a length of 2x4 then clamp to bench.

    Really good barrel vise, it has large areas touching the barrel so you don't even have to tighten the nuts all that much for it to hold the barrel firmly.

    A timeline...... Trying to pull an old Tikka T3 barrel. 2 weeks of frustration with 'other' vises. Tuesday 4:50pm: Order PMA vise Friday 7:30pm: UPS drop off vise Friday 7:35pm: PMA vise bolted to bench Friday 7:39: Tikka barrel removed ? 2 whacks with a 5lb deadblow on the action wrench handle & it literally spun off. I couldn't be happier!

    The gen 2 vice does exactly what it should do – hold the barrel without slipping or scuffing. I appreciate the ability to use this with smaller barrels.
